T'keyah Vaughan MD

Summary

• I am a current 3rd year MD candidate with a passion for educational development at all levels. As an undergraduate at Northwestern, I serve as a certified peer educator for Sexual Health and Assault and completed a senior thesis called Landscaping Sex and Sexuality Education in America. In my thesis, I investigate the philosophies, characteristics, and content of different programs in the United States. I then went on to work as a Health Educator at Planned Parenthood where I taught learners from middle school through adulthood and developed programming for older learners. After my time there, I earned my Master's in Biochemistry at VCU. My research project focused on postpartum depression in women and the psychiatric outcomes of their children. As a medical student, I serve as a Curriculum Representative for my 2024 class to help give feedback and improve the classroom learning environment. Additionally, I am a part of a research team investigating improvements in learning environments in regards to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as, helping develop anti-racism programming. I am excited to continue my medical education and have an interest in continuing to gain experience in medical education leadership and development.
