Summary
- Dr. Rahman originally hails from Brooklyn, NY. He completed undergraduate studies in biochemistry and mathematics at New York University. He subsequently attained his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Rahman initially did a residency and chief residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida. He then moved to Cleveland, OH where he did a fellowship and chief fellowship in the Post Pediatric Portal Program at UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. The Post Pediatric Portal Program rigorously trains pediatricians in both general psychiatry and child psychiatry over the course of 3 years. Dr. Rahman is a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Johns Hopkins Medical & Surgical Association, and other professional organizations. He is trained to administer the SCID-D, which is the gold standard diagnostic instrument for dissociation and dissociative disorders. As a pediatrician, general psychiatrist and child psychiatrist, Dr. Rahman is passionate about children's health and rights, child maltreatment, complex trauma, dissociation, (psycho)traumatology, diversity/equity/inclusion, cultural competency, healthcare disparities, healthcare expenditure, healthcare education, STEM education, evidence-based care, social justice, marginalized peoples, human rights, and myriad other phenomena.
