Summary
- The medical field is a constantly changing endeavor that grows as scientific and technological research continues to answer important questions. Medicine transmutes these answers to theoretical questions into practical solutions for our patient’s problems. My personal interest in cardiology began when I was a medical student, and one of my mentors told me about the origin of cardiac catheterization. I admired Werner Forssmann who had the courage to perform a right heart catheterization on himself in 1929. Dr. Forssmann’s first small step began a journey that has allowed interventional cardiology to evolve into a complex array of procedures and tools that provide miracles for people daily.
I am 3rd-year Internal Medicine Resident at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and I'm going to do Cardiology fellowship in 2013. Because of my commitment and my determination, I believe that I can become a proficient cardiologist. I hope to someday use my future knowledge and abilities to help the people of my country. I hope that I can eventually work in academics. I want to become an accomplished mentor and teacher. Maybe one day I can inspire a medical student to become dedicated to the study of cardiology in the same way that I was motivated by my previous mentor.
