- Dr. Susan Tarry is a reconstructive urologist with over 13 years of experience in the field of Urology. She was born in the state of Maryland and was Valedictorian of her high school class. She graduated summa cum laude (highest honors) from West Virginia University and then went on to obtain her medical degree (M.D.) from West Virginia University. She was an intern in general surgery, then a urology resident and finally a chief urologic surgical resident at WVU. West Virginia University is ranked #22 in the United States for training in the field of Urology according to U.S. News and World reports. She was awarded for her medical mission work in both Uganda, in the continent of Africa, and Chimbote, Peru in South America. She furthered her Urologic education with a matched fellowship from the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Urologists in Texas, which is approved by the American Urologic Association. She was also an assistant professor who practiced both clinical urology in an academic setting training residents as well as research at the University of Texas for over 6 years. During that time she trained many residents and countless medical students. She also became very proficient in the use of robotic assisted surgery which is unique amongst other reconstructive urologists. She has also been awarded a grant from intuitive surgical, which is the company that makes the da Vinci surgical robot. This grant was awarded for her research in surgical simulation. She also received an award for teaching during her time at the University of Texas and completed training in the Physician Leadership Academy. She is fully board certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology. She is a member of the American Urologic Society, a member of the Society for GU reconstructive surgeons, FACS.
