- Dr. Steven Schostal is a psychiatrist who last worked at the Florida VA hospital Bay Pines. He completed his medical education at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1973 and his residency in psychiatry at the same institution from 1973 to 1976. Moving to Atlanta, from 1976 to 1980 he was employed by Emory University School of Medicine at Grady Hospital, teaching residents and medical students about Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Dr. Schostal went into private practice from 1980 through January, 1988. Starting in 1988, he served as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. From 1991 until he retired, Dr. Schostal was one of two physicians in the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder program formed to treat veterans with PTSD. Among his publications, he authored a paper on cardiac catheterization data errors, which has been cited six times.
