Dr. Steven Chao is a physician specializing in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. He is certified in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his residency in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he served as chief resident. His postgraduate training includes an internship in Surgery and a residency in Neurological Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Chao graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and received an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. As a graduate student at Columbia, he performed research on the sense of smell in the laboratory of Richard Axel, M.D., recipient of the 2004 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
