Summary
- I am a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in treating patients with mood disorders, medical illnesses, and posttraumatic stress disorder. In addition to psychopharmacology and cognitive-behavioral therapy, I'm interested in complementary approaches, such as exercise, light therapy, mindfulness, and animal-assisted therapy. After receiving my MD from New York University and completing a psychiatry residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, I served in the Air Force and on the faculty at Penn. I subsequently directed a mood disorders clinic at The Ohio State University Hospitals before moving to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the San Antonio VA, where I worked with medically ill patients and studied the role of companion animals in helping Veterans with PTSD. I have recently returned to the New York area and opened an office for the private practice of psychiatry.
