Summary
- Dr. Salanski has been a Family Physician in the Kansas City area for over thirty years. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Kansas, medical training at the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine, and Family Medicine Residency in Kansas City at Baptist Medical Center. He was in private practice in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for twelve years before joining the Faculty in 1999 of what is now the Research Family Medicine Residency Program (the same Program where he did his Residency). Dr. Salanski served as the Residency Program Director from 2006 through 2017.
During his career, Dr. Salanski has also had a strong professional interest in community health. He has chaired or co-chaired five different organizations involved in community health – the Kansas City Medical Society, Lee’s Summit Health Education Advisory Board, Kansas City Quality Improvement Consortium, Center for Practical Bioethics Kansas City Ethics Committee Consortium, and Clean Air Lee’s Summit (a Citizen’s Petition Initiative in 2006 that led to a 71% majority vote in favor of Smokefree Workplaces in Lee’s Summit – one of the initial three KC Metro communities to pass such an ordinance). In addition, he also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Kansas City Medical Society Foundation, Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation, and Center for Practical Bioethics.
