- Dr. Stephen R. Mandler is a double Board Certified Child Psychiatrist with 20+ yrs. experience. After Medical School, Dr. Mandler completed Residency and Fellowship Training at the Menninger Clinic, part of the Baylor College of Medicine. Currently he is Chief Medical Officer of Orchard Place, based out of Des Moines, IA. Most recently he had been the Clinical/Medical Director of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. He has held faculty positions at Oregon Health & Sciences University and Portland State University. Previously he served as a Regional Medical Officer Psychiatrist, US Department of State, Foreign Service and worked in Afghanistan, Mexico, and West Africa. Specialty Areas of Interest: Attachment, Early Childhood years including Infants and Toddlers, the role of the father in Children’s Personality development, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Mandler frequently presents on children’s mental health topics to both professional and lay audiences.
