Dr. Killen's clinical and research efforts seek to improve the care of mothers and fetuses whose pregnancies are complicated by fetal congenital heart disease and arrhythmias. She has authored articles and book chapters on fetal supraventricular tachycardia, fetal long QT syndrome, fetal immune-mediated carditis, prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease, and management of special populations with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
Dr. Killen is also the co-chair of the Pediatric Heart Institute Nutrition Program and helped develop a multi-interventional nutrition program for newborns with congenital heart disease. Additionally, she serves on the education and the program leaders committees for the Fetal Heart Society, on the Critical Congenital Heart Disease Screening Workgroup for the State of Tennessee, and on the Genetics Advisory Committee for the State of Tennessee.
