Dr. Traven’s career spans leadership roles in the U.S. Air Force, where she served in Korea, Japan, and California. She has also held academic appointments as an Assistant Professor at Baylor University, UC Davis, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as well as Clinical Instructor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her research focuses on orthopaedic trauma, arthroplasty outcomes, and disparities in musculoskeletal care, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Dr. Traven is actively involved in professional societies, including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
