Overview of Dr. Fu
Dr. Sophia Fu is an SSO-Fellowship trained Breast Surgical Oncologist on Long Island and is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. She was a partner in a private practice for several years before joining Good Samaritan Hospital as the Director of Breast Surgery. Having received her medical degree and completed her training in NYC, she has been in practice 15 years. She also speaks multiple languages, including Chinese (Mandarin). She specializes in breast cancer care, high risk breast cancer, and benign breast disease. Surgeries in which she is experienced include: nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomy, prophylactic mastectomy for high risk for breast cancer, breast conservation surgery, oncoplastic breast surgery, sentinel node localization, axillary dissection, reverse axillary lymphatic mapping, axillary sparing and preventive surgery, excisional biopsy, and wire-free US-guided lumpectomy.
