Summary
- Sidney Schwab, MD, is a general surgeon based in Everett, WA, affiliated with Providence Regional Medical Center Everett since 1982. He completed his surgical residency at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1977, following an internship at the same institution and earning his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1970. Dr. Schwab has contributed to publications such as Op-Med and has authored several pieces including "The Calling of Surgery" and "When I Learned A Patient’s Illness Is Part of an Entire Life." He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
After retirement, he wrote a memoir of surgical training in the pre-work restriction days. It's still available on Amazon and elsewhere: "Cutting Remarks; insights and recollections of a surgeon." He's aware he could have chosen a better title. Like "Delicate Brutality; becoming a surgeon" a term used in the book.
