He received his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine and has been in practice 42 years. He specializes in breast surgical oncology He is past president of the American Society of Breast surgeons.He is a recognized leader in the development of innovative, minimally-invasive techniques to diagnose and treat breast cancer. He is the principal investigator for both single-site and multi-centered research protocols thataim to advance the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. His areas of expertise include; oncoplastic surgery, nipple sparing mastectomy, intraoperative radiation, tumor ablation, lymphedema prevention , intraductal approach to breast cancer and physician patient communication. He has lectured and published extensively both nationally and internationally
