He also speaks multiple languages, including Hindi and Urdu. He specializes in geriatric medicine and infectious disease and is experienced in infectious disease, geriatrics, abnormal wounds/wound healing, epidemiology, and telemedicine. He has 5 publications and over 50 citings. His initial work as a young medical student and researcher was looking at HIV among drugs addicts in Karachi and dogbite/rabies epidemiology in Pakistan. Both projects one awards and were published in peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Parviz was in the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic working at subacute rehab centers that were hit badly by the virus. He helped in promoting vaccination among patients and other healthcare workers. He formulated this novel innovative technique called SWHF-ERNIGS (Soap and water to the hands and face, eye rinse nasal irrigation and gargling with saline) for prevention and early treatment of URTI due to COVID-19 which was published in peer reviewed international journal along with saline guru Professor David Rabago from Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Clinical Professor Laurie Duncan at George Washington University. This was followed publication as second author in an international collaborative of saline researchers (Belgium, US, Italy, India, Pakistan) of evidence of saline studies against COVID-19.
