Summary
- I am a public health trained, board-certified, hospital-based internist dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based, compassionate patient care with an eye towards leveraging technology, improving systems of care, and seeking justice for my patients, my colleagues, and the populations of which we are all a part.
I have additional experience/expertise in telehealth, consulting, supply chains, emergency preparedness, international/domestic health policy, health economics, quantitative/qualitative research methods, medical and non-medical editing, medical chart reviews, peer reviews, and quality improvement techniques.
During my multiple graduate school tenures, I have been lucky enough to learn from, work with, and consult for Ministries of Health in Paraguay, Cuba, Chile, and Thailand. I am amazed by the range of solutions and systems that countries, organizations, and people design and create to provide innovative population health and health care. We have a lot to learn in the US, and I'm always looking for opportunities to bring the lessons I have learned to the table.
In my recent career as a hospitalist physician, in addition to my clinical/procedural duties, I have led the hospital emergency preparedness efforts, chaired the product council that oversees all new products and product changes for two large medical centers, served on a statewide technology committee with a nine figure budget, taught fellow hospitalists point-of-care ultrasound at regional conferences, reviewed hospital Rapid Response Team events and protocols, edited the hospitals' newsletter, taught countless medical residents and medical students, and served on multiple local committees including hiring and training new physicians.
Above all I am a humanist who wants to make the world a better place for those living now and in the future. I look forward to learning what you are doing in that regard. Please do reach out if this resonates.
