- Shane Savage, M.D. is triple-board certified in General Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. He completed a Bachelors Degree in Biology at Clayton College and State University. Following undergraduate studies, Dr. Savage worked at Emory University in Nephrology research for nearly three years. He completed medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Savage completed his Internship, General Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Savage was involved in various committees within Vanderbilt Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in his final year of Child and Adolescent Fellowship. Following completion of his training at Vanderbilt, Dr. Savage moved back to his hometown and returned to Emory University to complete a year of specialized training in Forensic Psychiatry.
During his time in Nashville, Dr. Savage served as Medical Director of a one-hundred bed residential facility, focusing on long-term mental health treatment of sex offending youth. He has also served as Medical Director of 24/7 crisis stabilization units in Southwest Georgia, serving both children and adults. He has experience treating and evaluating both adolescents and adults in forensic and correctional settings. Dr. Savage has a passion for teaching and has volunteered to teach medical students in various clinical settings at Vanderbilt University, Emory University, Mercer University, and Georgia Regents University. He currently serves as adjunct facility at Emory University and Augusta University.
