He then completed residency in Neurological surgery at the University of Miami-Miller school of medicine/ Jackson Memorial Hospital. While at the University of Miami, he completed fellowship training in complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. Dr. Hayes then joined the Faculty at Duke University, where he practiced prior to joining Ochsner.
His clinical practice focuses on Minimally Invasive spine surgery with the goal of reducing complications and maximizing recovery. He utilizes innovative techniques and technology to treat spinal pathology. Dr. Hayes practices on the Northshore, providing top-notch care to local residents.
