Summary

I am a medical student at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College. Immediately prior to medical school, I completed a DPhil in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, where I researched the structural and functional dynamics of neural circuits. By using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, as a model, I investigated the molecular mechanisms and neural circuitry that register sleep history in the fly. Looking forward, I have a keen interest in exploring macroscopic connections in the brain as the interface between an organism's behaviour and the molecular machinery underlying the activity of individual cells. I wish to use discoveries in this field as a platform for pioneering specific and customized treatment strategies for various neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, making use of new technologies such as optogenetics.
