    Dr. Hariprasad’s clinical activities involve a medical and surgical practice that focuses on vitreoretinal care. He is an expert in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye diseases and intraocular infections (endophthalmitis).

    Dr. Hariprasad has advanced training in vitreoretinal surgery and has been recognized for his innovations in sutureless microincisional vitrectomy techniques, which have reduced operative time and postoperative pain.

    Dr. Hariprasad is actively involved in clinical research, having been principal investigator or sub-investigator in more than 40 national clinical trials evaluating new drugs, devices, surgical innovations, and drug delivery for a variety of conditions including age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusion, endophthalmitis and diabetic retinopathy. His research efforts have resulted in more than 120 peer-reviewed publications, meeting abstracts and textbook chapters. His work has contributed to the understanding and use of new medications to combat a wide variety of vitreoretinal disorders.

    In addition to serving on the editorial board for the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hariprasad is also a Scientific Referee for seven major ophthalmology journals. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards for Retinal Physician and Ocular Surgery News.
