- Scott M. Walsman M.D. received his undergraduate degrees from Rutgers College graduating Summa Cum Laude with highest honors in Biological Sciences and a Henry Rutgers Scholar. He completed his ophthalmology residency at New Jersey Medical School-UMDNJ/Rutgers in Newark. He served as Chief Resident in his final year before completing a Glaucoma Fellowship under Dr. Scott D. Smith & Dr. Lama Al-Aswad at the Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Walsman maintains a clinical appointment at Rutgers and is actively involved with resident education and surgical training. Dr. Walsman's research and publications focus on anterior segment imaging for glaucoma diagnosis and combined cataract surgery and glaucoma procedures, and he maintains professional affiliations with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision. Dr Walsman is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
