Summary
- Dr. Sarika Kalantre specializes in all pediatric cardiology imaging. This includes: echocardiography, transthoracic. fetal imaging and stress echocardiography. Her research is focused on quantitative assessment of right ventricular function is patients with Scoliosis and sickle cell disease. She is currently the principal investigator for the study on “Assessment of Right Ventricular Function by Echocardiography in patients with Sickle Cell Disease using Strain Imaging”. She has also been invited to present her research at various international and national meetings. She was the principal investigator on the project Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis are at increased risk for Pulmonary Hypertension” which won the best paper award at American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference in October 2013 at Orlando, FL. She was also invited for an oral podium presentation at the International Meeting for Advanced Spinal Techniques (IMAST) in Valencia, Spain July 2014 when her paper was nominated for the prestigious Thomas Whitecloud Award . She also presented her work at the 2nd Annual Fetal Cardiac Symposium at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL She has also presented her work at the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meetings and at regionals meetings like the New York Pediatric Echocardiography Society meetings(NYPES). Here clinical and research interests are pediatric echocardiography, fetal echocardiography, and stress echocardiography. For this study, Dr. Kalantre will collaborate with primary care pediatricians and other subspecialties to describe the social determinants of health affecting children exposed to or infected with COVID-19.
