I am a board certified Internal Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology, & Metabolism, Lifestyle Medicine, and Obesity Medicine Physician. I earned my medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, completed intern year of Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian – Columbia Hospital in New York City, and my final two years of residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. I completed my fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Pittsburgh.
I served as faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism for 7 years and as Clinical Chief of Endocrinology at UPMC Mercy during all those years. I have received multiple institutional grants that funded my clinical research interests in the delivery of diabetes care using diabetes technology. My specific clinical interests are in type 1 diabetes management; type 2 diabetes management, prevention, and reversal; obesity management, prevention, and reversal; and other conditions of insulin resistance such as metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, overweight, and fatty liver disease.
