Summary

  • Samuel Shor, MD, FACP Clinical Associate Professor, George Washington University Health Care Sciences
Dr. Samuel Shor is an internist in Reston, VA and is affiliated with Reston Hospital Center. He received his medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine, graduating with Alpha Omega honors and has been in practice 35 years. Developing his long standing fascination of chronic fatigue in the late 1980s, Dr Shor cultivated this interest in managing associated conditions such as fibromyalgia and ultimately Lyme disease. He has provided a congressional presentation of Lyme disease on Capitol Hill 9/24/08 and has twice been interviewed on the nationally syndicated Diane Rehm Show most recently February of 2012 and 7/3/19 on the Kojo Nnamdi show. Dr. Shor participated on the 2010 Virginia Governor's Task Force on Lyme disease, is a past President of ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) and presently Chairs the Loudoun County Lyme commission. In 2011, Dr Shor published in the peer review literature original research regarding a retrospective analysis of a cohort of patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He presented clinical evidence that the majority of this group actually were presenting with seronegative Lyme disease. These activities represent examples of Dr Shor's strong interest in educating the public and medical communities. He continues to be actively involved in patient care while maintaining an interest in clinical research and publishing in the peer review literature.
