- Dr. Samuel Bieligk is a general and oncologic surgeon who lives in Lewiston, Idaho with part of the family in Tulsa, OK and is a full time surgeon with St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and Scion Health. He and Sallee Jones, DO are partners affiliated with the hospital performing a variety of procedures including robotics for Trauma, General and multi disciplinary oncology patients. He previously was associated with Weatherby Locums, INC and worked for Mercy Hospital Ardmore, Oklahoma as well as UPMC-WMD, Meritus medical Center and Union Hospital of Maryland. He has also worked in Texas at Hunt Regional Med Ctr in Greenville, Tx. He was an Assistant Professor of surgery for the first half of his career for UTSW at Dallas and Univ of Maryland. Once he left academics, he initiated an advanced cancer program at Joplin, MO as the Cancer Committee chairman and president-elect of the southwest chapter of the ACoS. Together with other local oncologists and surgeons put Mercy hospital on the forefront of cancer care. On May 22, 2011 the Joplin Tornado took his house and office and hospital as well as many lives. Since that time he has worked in several institutions including CTCA, Saint Francis in Tulsa, Tahlequah Health care, and Missouri Delta medical Ctr before doing locums.
He received his medical degree from University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and General surgery training under Watts Webb, MD and Lewis M Flint, Jr MD at Tulane in New Orleans. After a 2 year research concerning the immunologic influence on malignancy in mice and clinical fellowship under the Direction of Bernard Jaffe, MD and Ken Bost, PhD in New Orleans, his Memorial Sloan Kettering fellowship was completed in New York under Murray F Brennan and Dan Coit. He has been in practice 34 years. He specializes in breast, colon & rectal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and surgical oncology (other than breast).
