- Board-certified in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery with more than 20 years of experience in the community, Dr. Samir Bhatt serves as Medical Director of Otolaryngology at Mass. Eye and Ear, Newton-Wellesley. Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Bhatt first moved to the Boston area to attend college at Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He then pursued medical training at Yale University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then returned to Harvard for residency training in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bhatt now serves on the faculty of Harvard Medical School as Instructor in Otolaryngology, Part-time.
He has been an invited speaker at regional and national meetings and has published peer-reviewed articles in the field. Dr. Bhatt’s clinical interests include the full spectrum of general otolaryngology conditions, including management of ear disease (hearing loss, cholesteatoma, and surgery of the ear), sinus disease (including sinus surgery to prevent sinus infections and treat nasal polyps), and pediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions, including ear and throat infections and tube and tonsil procedures. He was named a "Best Doctor" in otolaryngology in 2009, 2010, and 2011 by the Best Doctors in America publication, and also to Castle Connolly's "Top Doctors" list in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Over the past 10 years, he has developed an ear, nose, and throat service at a charity hospital in rural India to provide free care for an under-served community.
