Overview of Dr. Noureldine

Salem I. Noureldine, MD, is an Endocrine Surgeon at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He focuses on the treatment of benign, functional, and malignant disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, as well as neuroendocrine tumors.

Dr. Noureldine is an accomplished and expert academic endocrine surgeon, having authored thyroid cancer guidelines from the American Head and Neck Society, over 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers, multiple textbook chapters, and served as an editor for several textbooks and review series. He has presented his research at numerous national and international scientific meetings. His work, which has been cited upwards of 2,600 times by the scientific society, on molecular markers, improving surgical outcomes, management of hyperparathyroidism, and exploring novel ablative techniques of endocrine pathologies has helped the medical field tailor and personalize treatment for patients with these conditions.

Dr. Noureldine is both fellowship-trained in Endocrine Surgery and board-certified in General Surgery. His practice is located at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates as well as the Virginia Hospital Center Health System.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), the American Thyroid Association (ATA), and the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS). He has served on the guidelines & emerging therapeutics committee for the AAES and AHNS and on the surgical affairs committee for the ATA and continues to be actively involved with these organizations.
