    Dr. Holzgrefe treats common hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ganglion cyst, tendonitis, Dupuytren’s, and injuries of nerves and tendons. He manages fractures and broken bones of the fingers, wrist, arm, and shoulder. He treats sports injuries such as rotator cuff tears and performs arthroscopic surgery of the wrist and shoulder. Dr. Holzgrefe manages arthritis from CMC basilar thumb arthritis up to shoulder arthritis including anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacement using the latest 3D reconstruction planning and guidance technology. He has a special interest in targeted muscle reinnervation for the management of neuroma and post-amputation nerve pain.

    Dr. Holzgrefe received his dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Georgia and graduated as a First Honor Graduate, Summa Cum Laude. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, VA. He completed residency training in orthopedic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA and then did an extra year of subspecialty training at the University of Florida Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship in Gainesville, FL. He has contributed to over a dozen orthopedic peer-reviewed journal articles and text book chapters and has presented research at several national meetings. Dr. Holzgrefe is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES).
