    He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College, completed his General Surgery residency between St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, NY, and the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University/TJUH in Philadelphia, PA. He completed a NIH-funded T32 surgical research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital during his residency, and completed a Minimally Invasive Surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic - Florida.

    His areas of experience include health policy & advocacy, minimally invasive surgery, and general/gastrointestinal surgery. He has authored several publications, most recently focusing on surgical health policy and the surgeon's role in the opioid crisis. Dr. Goldberg holds the title of Fellow (FACS) from the American College of Surgeons.
