He received his MD and PhD degrees from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School followed by a residency in Pathology at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute before joining the faculty at Harvard Medical School and the DFCI. He was recruited to Penn in 2015 where he is the Franklin Payne Professor of Pathology in Gynecologic Oncology. He also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish.
