- Dr. Ron Greeno is a veteran physician executive with 25 years of experience in the Hospitalist physician practice industry. He has just completed a three year engagement as the Senior Advisor for Medical Affairs for Team Health assuming that role following the acquisition of IPC Healthcare by Team Health. In June of 2015 Dr. Greeno had joined IPC Healthcare as their first Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to joining IPC he was a founder of Cogent Healthcare and served as Executive VP for Strategy and Innovation and Chief Medical Officer for Cogent.
As a founder and long standing Chief Medical Officer of Cogent, Dr. Greeno created the hospitalist program management model used by Cogent. He is considered a pioneer in Hospital Medicine, which has become the fastest growing field in the history of American medicine. He is a founding member of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), which now has over 22,000 members. He serves on the Board of Directors and is the Past President of the Society. He has recently been named the Senior Advisor for Government Relations for SHM.
In 2003, he received the SHM Award for Outstanding Service in Hospital Medicine. SHM has also awarded him a Master in Hospital Medicine, making Dr. Greeno one of only a hand full of individuals to ever receive this distinction. Three times Modern Healthcare has named Dr. Greeno to its list of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives" the first hospitalist physician ever to make this prestigious list.
Dr. Greeno is a nationally recognized expert on hospitalist programs and their clinical and administrative management and speaks and writes regularly on the subject. He has authored over thirty articles and book chapters on Hospital Medicine programs for national publications.
He has received board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
He was recently named President of Sitka Medical Associate.
