  • Dr. Rochelle Head-Dunham is an addiction psychiatrist in New Orleans and an Endowed Professor and Clinical Associate Professor at LSU School of Medicine. Her MD degree and Internship were completed at Tulane University School of Medicine (1986) where she is now an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. Her Residency was completed at Albert Einstein School of Medicine (1990) and an Addiction Fellowship at Tulane (1991.) She is a 33 year State Civil Service Employee with numerous positions and awards during the course of her career. Most notable are - Assistant Secretary and Medical Director for the Office of Behavioral Health in the Louisiana Department of Health, State MH Commissioner and SSA Director for Addiction, “Physician Champion” for LDH, and currently, Executive Director and Medical Director for Metropolitan Human Services District, the lead state regional authority for BH since 2016. Dr. Dunham was in solo Private Practice for 15 years. Her 33year administrative career as a thought leader for systems change is descriptively transformative, as evidenced by her numerous speaking and teaching engagements at National CME conferences, seminars and educational gatherings.Her addiction psychiatry expertise and motivational speaking skills are masterful in the rendering of influence to the behavioral health field locally and nationally. Her career interests are Health Equity, Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, and Integration of primary and behavioral healthcare.
