Summary
- Robert Schulte, MD, is a private practitioner with a broad range of clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Over the past 30+ years, Dr. Schulte has had the opportunity to work with individuals and groups of various make-ups, notably including serving in the public sector supervising an inpatient unit dedicated solely to the treatment of extremely difficult-to-treat, violent, and/or schizophrenic adult patients, and then in the private sector in an inpatient unit treating children and adolescents. Dr. Schulte has always maintained a private, outpatient, practice working with children and adults as well.
Dr. Schulte is board certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and employs both Psychotherapy (talking therapy) and Psychopharmacology (medication) in his work with children and adults to address depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, eating disorders, ADD, and ADHD, psychotic disorders, addictive disorders, bipolar disorder, autism, and Asperger's syndrome. Dr. Schulte also has expertise in forensic psychiatry, though he currently prefers to limit his practice to clinical matters. While he has extensive experience in traditional "treatment-resistant" conditions, Dr. Schulte is also capable of and does enjoy working with moderate to high-functioning adolescents and adults in both individual and couples therapy.
Dr. Schulte graduated from Harvard Medical School and was a Resident, Fellow, and Instructor at Harvard Medical School before moving to Arizona.
