- Dr. Robert Margulies is an Emergency Medicine, Diving Medicine and Aerospace Medicine specialist based in Richland, WA. He obtained his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and served his internship in Internal Medicine there, followed by an MPH at Johns Hopkins.
His Naval career included duty in submarines, diving, aircraft carriers, other surface ships, multiple austere environments, being seconded to the DOD for various duties, academic and command positions in research and clinical arenas and being a consultant to DOD, NASA and other alphabet agencies.
Civilian activities includes serving as an Emergency Medicine Physician and academic faculty at various institutions, including St Mary's Medical Center, Saginaw MI for Michigan State University and Hartford Hospital for The University of Connecticut. In Washington, be held clinical and director positions at Lourdes Hospital and Kadlec Regional Medical Center. His recognitions include the ACEP 40th Anniversary Hero of Emergency Medicine Award and being named a Fellow of several professional associations and colleges.
Upon semiretirement in Emergency Medicine, he became a Commissioned and Sworn Reserve Peace officer in Connell, WA, serving as a CJTC certified firearms instructor and patrol officer, retiring in 2022.
He has been legally adopted into an Indigenous Tribe and is highly regarded in the field of Indigenous Medicine.
In his "spare time" he continues to teach trauma management for police and civilian agencies, civilian defensive use of firearms, open hand defense and survival; and survival and field first aid for WA State hunter education and other groups.
