Summary

  • I was recruited to become the Senior Associate Clinical Dean for St. George's University School of Medicine in August 2021. Prior to assuming my current role I was the Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief at New York -Presbyterian Hospital, the University Hospital of Columbia and Weill Cornell. I am a Professor Emeritus of Surgery at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and was an Adjunct Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) at Weill Cornell Medical College. I graduated from the Albany Medical College in 1983. My post-graduate training was at the then New York Hospital/Weill Cornell-Medical Center in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. I completed my clinical training by undertaking a Microsurgery fellowship at NYU Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital. In 1999 I received my Masters degree in Management from NYU's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. In addition to my robust clinical practice I was the Hospital's Plastic Surgery Residency Program Director. In addition I served as the Hospital's Physician Advisor and Chair of the Utilization Management Committee. I was co-Chair of the faculty practice (ColumbiaDoctors) Managed Care Committee. I maintain active certification with MOC in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery.
