Summary
- I retired in 2004 and have since enjoyed traveling the world, spending time with my grandkids and extended family, and pursuing multiple interests, particularly writing. In 2022, my first book , "Wind, Fire, and Ice: The Perils of a Coast Guard Icebreaker in Antarctica" was published by Lyons Press. It is a nonfiction adventure of the five months I spent in Antarctica in 1969/70 as a ships doctor. The book has garnered multiple 5 star reviews, including one by Minnesota's world-famous polar explorer, Will Steger. I am presently working on a fictional book about a modern-day icebreaker in Antarctica.
