- I am a practicing spine surgeon in Denver, Colorado, specializing in the treatment of scoliosis, spine deformity, and revision spine for pediatric and adult patients. I received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University, my medical doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed my orthopedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and completed my fellowship in pediatric and adult spinal surgery at the Washington University in St. Louis. I am is the president and founder of the International Spine Study Group Foundation. Since the inception in 2009 the International Spine Study Group is recognized as the most productive and influential complex spine study group in the world, and has presented over 2000 scientific abstracts published over 500 peer reviewed manuscripts. I am the National Medical Director for Spine for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), which is the largest health care system in the United States comprising over 180 hospitals, and leads the strategic clinical and research efforts for complex spine for HCA. I am an internationally recognized clinician and research leader in spine surgery and research and have over 500 peer-reviewed manuscript publications. In addition to my research and clinical efforts, I have participated in medical mission work for charity efforts that provide spine care for children in Ethiopia, Ghana, and Colombia.
