Dr. R. Michael Benitez is a cardiologist based in Baltimore, MD, specializing in echocardiography, guidance of structural interventional cardiology, and non-invasive cardiology. He completed his medical education and training at the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia Medical Center. Dr. Benitez has experience in valvular heart disease, mitral regurgitation, cardiac catheterization, transesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac critical care. His work has been published in several prestigious journals, including a recent publication in JACC Case Reports. He has participated in authoring 4 editions of the American College of Physician's MKSAP. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the recipient of the American College of Cardiology's "W. Proctor Harvey Gifted Teaching Award".
