Summary
- I had practiced as a board certified emergency medicine physician for 33 years. During that timeframe I also obtained a masters in computer science from the University of Illinois.
I am now CEO of Julota. Julota is a software platform that creates a virtual safety net in a community by connecting the existing disjointed patchwork of agencies and organizations that service the community’s most vulnerable individuals, enabling these organizations to effectively coordinate care. This has the dual benefit of dramatically improving the lives and wellbeing of these individuals and considerably decreasing costs to the community. By yoking people, resources, charities and businesses, Julota has an additional tremendous social impact on a community.
Today’s communities face many challenges when it comes to coordinating all the disparate resources and organizations resulting in a blockade to data sharing and inter-agency collaboration: unique organizational internal policies and procedures; communication roadblocks due to HIPAA statutes and state and federal security and privacy laws; each organization uses its own software - no one system addresses everyone’s issues and desires; onerous and inefficient processes between organizations; miscommunication, forgotten tasks and incomplete referrals; the result is that people needing care fall through the cracks or end up on a track where they go from organization to organization and their overall wellbeing never really changes or improves.
The Julota platform provides all the tools needed to enable all the disparate organizations and resources to coordinate care across a community. Any organization - private, governmental or charitable may join Julota and then automate collaboration with any other resource already existing on the connected community. Julota also allows for the creation of care-centric networks - homelessness, teen suicide, food insecurity, etc.
We are now opening a round of funding for growth capital.
