  • Dr. Richard Allen Williams is a cardiologist in Encino, CA. After graduating with honors from Harvard University, he received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
    He founded the Association of Black Cardiologists in 1974 and the Minority Health Institute in 1985.
    He also speaks or is familiar with multiple languages, including French, German, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, and Italian. He is experienced in heart failure, hypertension, CAD, diabetes mellitus, minority health and health disparities issues, and has written nine books on these issues. His most recent book is Blacks in Medicine (Springer.com, 2020). His first book, the Textbook of Black-Related Diseases (McGraw-Hill, 1975) has been placed into the historical archives of the Smithsonian Institution.
    In 2023, Dr. Williams received the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House and President Biden for his fifty-year career of eliminating healthcare disparities and increasing Health Equity.
