Summary

  • A Dallas native, Dr. Richard Wagner joined MacArthur Medical Center in 2019. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. He then returned home to Texas for medical school and residency. Dr. Wagner earned his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, TX and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, TX. During his training, he developed an interest in breast cancer. He decided to further pursue this passion after residency and completed a fellowship in Breast Oncology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX.

Dr. Wagner’s unique training background in both Ob/Gyn and Breast Surgery allows him to provide quality care in all aspects of a woman’s life, from her first pregnancy to menopause and beyond. His goal is to provide truly comprehensive women’s healthcare while building lasting relationships with his patients. He most enjoys navigating patients through their care, helping them understand so they can make informed decisions about their care.

Dr. Wagner specializes is breast care, treating everything from benign breast issues to breast cancer. He is also interested in working with patients to understand their genetic makeups. This, he feels, is especially important for women who might be at high risk of developing breast cancer because of family history. He also greatly enjoys providing care in general obstetrics and gynecology.

When he’s not practicing, he spends as much time as possible with his wife and their three boys. “I love to being with my family. With three crazy little boys, our house is usually more like a circus, but I love getting to spend time with them,” he said. He and his family are glad to be back in DFW after several years away. They love doing anything outside, including running, swimming, being on the lake, and snow skiing.
