- Richard Villata, MD, is a Salt Lake City-based aerospace medicine specialist with a solo practice in clinical aerospace, occupational, and preventive medicine at Previca PLLC. He completed his MD at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1995, followed by an internship in aerospace medicine at LDS Hospital, and a residency at Wright State University School of Aerospace Medicine. Following this training he served in the USAF as a flight surgeon for 23 years and practiced occupational medicine at Hill AFB. Dr. Villata's expertise also extends into acceleration-related injuries; and he has published works on topics related to perceptual and spatial illusions in aviation accidents, occupational health in war zone solid waste disposal operations, casual factors in EMS helicopter accidents, and physical activity strategies for bone density in low Gz environments.
