- Richard Villata, MD, is a Salt Lake City-based aerospace medicine specialist with a solo practice in clinical aerospace, occupational, and preventive medicine at Previca PLLC. He completed his MD at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1995, followed by a transitional internship at LDS Hospital, and a residency at Wright State University School of Aerospace Medicine. Following this training he served in the USAF as a flight surgeon for 23 years and practiced occupational medicine at Hill AFB. Dr. Villata's expertise also extends into: acceleration-related injuries, perceptual and spatial illusions in aviation accidents, occupational health related to solid waste disposal operations in a war zone, casual factors in EMS helicopter accidents, and physical activity strategies for bone density in low Gz environments.
