Overview of Dr. Kovacs
Dr. Richard Kovacs, located in Indianapolis, IN, specializes in Cardiology with subspecialties in Non-Invasive Cardiology and Clinical Pharmacology. He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and residency in Internal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine, following his graduation from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1980. Currently serving as Chief Medical Officer at the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Kovacs has extensive experience in drug safety, long QT syndrome, health policy, and sports cardiology. He also is the Interim Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Indiana University School of Medicine and as the Interim Director of the IU Health / Indiana University School of Medicine Cardiovascular Institute. His recent publications appear in prominent journals such as JACC and Circulation. Dr. Kovacs has led clinical trials related to atrial fibrillation and cognitive impairments. He has been recognized with several honors, including being named a Master by the American College of Cardiology and receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash award.
