- Dr. Rhoda Alani is the Herbert Mescon Endowed Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine and Chief of the Dermatology Service at Boston Medical Center. She is a world-renowned expert in the care for patients with atypical moles and melanoma and research into the molecular determinants of melanoma development and progression. Her ground-breaking clinical and research efforts have made her a highly regarded thought leader in the area of treatment for melanoma and other cutaneous malignancies as well as the development of novel epigenetic therapies for melanoma.
Her research program is supported by outside funding through the National Institutes of Health and the Melanoma Research Alliance. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, an Elected Member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, a member of the Association for Professors of Dermatology, the Society for Melanoma Research, the Society for Investigative Dermatology, the Massachusetts Academy of Dermatology, the New England Dermatologic Society.
