Summary
- I am a psychiatrist and clinical researcher focused on identifying and testing novel therapeutic strategies to treat symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety. I am particularly interested in the brain’s endocannabinoid system, its role in the pathophysiology underlying OCD and anxiety disorders, and its potential as a treatment target for these conditions.
After graduating from Yale University with a BA in psychology/behavioral neuroscience, I obtained my medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. I then completed residency in psychiatry and an NIMH T32 research fellowship in affective, anxiety, and related disorders at Columbia University Medical Center and New York State Psychiatric Institute.
I currently serve as Medical Director of the Center for OCD and Related Disorders, where I treat patients with OCD and anxiety disorders as a study psychiatrist, help to coordinate the Center’s various clinical research projects, and supervise research assistants, residents, and fellows.
