Summary
- Dr. Bussing is Professor and Chief of Faculty Development at the University of Florida. Board certified in general psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Bussing completed her residency and fellowship training at the University of Florida and a Master’s degree at the UCLA School of Public Health. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, including past service as Chair of Psychiatry, she practices child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Florida, teaches medical students, residents, and fellows, and directs the Florida and Virgin Islands Deafblind Collaborative. Her research focuses on access to and quality of care for mental disorders, and on pharmacoepidemiology. A certified Global Trainer for Parent-Child Interaction therapy (PCIT), Dr. Bussing collaborated on an NIMH funded randomized trial comparing group and individual applications of PCIT for preschool ADHD. Furthermore, Dr. Bussing investigated the occurrence and timing of activation syndrome during antidepressant treatment, and has been the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials, including multi-site studies examining treatments for childhood and adolescent depression, ADHD and Tourette’s Disorder.
