Summary
- I am an MD candidate at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. I will be earning my MD in May of 2021 and intend to pursue a residency in obstetrics and gynecology. I am currently completing a year-long student research fellowship between my third and final year of medical school focused on maternal and child Deaf health. My main project is focused on the experiences of people who identify as Deaf women of color in obtaining sexual and reproductive healthcare.
I hold a bachelor of arts in American Sign Language (ASL) from the University of Rochester and have extensive experience in Deaf health research, including a national survey of health education at schools for the Deaf across the United States which was accepted for a poster presentation at the International Congress on the Education of the Deaf.
I am proficient in ASL and intend to have a medical practice that is welcoming to the Deaf community. I also intend to practice in an academic medical center where I can continue to pursue research endeavors.
