You can feel hopeless – as though nobody in your life understands what you are going through. With decades of experience supporting others like yourself, Rebecca is here to help. Rebecca Ferra took and unconventional path in becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She received her BA in Psychology in 1999 from the Franklin Pierce University before working as a homeless outreach coordinator, connecting homeless individuals with mental health conditions to treatment and local resources. As her passion for mental health grew, she shifted her career focus toward residential care and became the program manager of a residential facility, supporting people with mental health conditions in their homes to achieve their maximum level of symptom management and independence. During this time, Rebecca became intrigued with the medical aspects of psychiatric care, as she witnessed firsthand the power that medications can make to improve lives. She went on to obtain her MSN in Nursing from New Hampshire University and worked as a Psychiatric Nurse from 2018-2021. Rebecca became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and has been a clinician for 3 years in a community mental health setting. Her specialty areas include psychotic disorders, bipolar I and II disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Her support of her clientele and commitment to excellence in mental health treatment is unwavering.
