Summary

• I grew up on the East Coast, mostly in New England. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina, and medical school at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After completing medical school, I served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. In the Navy I traveled all over the world, from the Middle East to Japan, providing medical care for the Navy aviators and air crew. I logged flight time in various aircraft, including EP-3's, F-18's and EA-6Bs. Upon completing my service, I came to Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills for my residency training between 2007 and 2010. Following residency, I completed a one-year fellowship in Community Medicine and then joined the Family Medicine Department full time in 2012. I currently serve on faculty as the Assistant Program Director of our medical center's Family Medicine Residency, the Site Director for our Community Medicine Fellowship and as an instructor for our resident Behavioral Sciences Clinic. Areas of interest include LGBTQ+ health, dermatology, office-based procedural skills, and behavioral health.
