Summary

  • I am a Board certified neurosurgeon who did my residency at the Medical College of Virginia and fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. I spent 10 years at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and moved up the academic ranks to Professor. In 1995 I was appointed Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at Temple University in Philadelphia. In 2002, I moved as Chair to the University of Cincinnati/The Mayfield Clinic. In 2009, I was recruited to take the Chair at The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell and serve as Director of the Northwell Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in New York.
In 2022, I moved to St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY as Chief of Neurosurgery.

My clinical interests include brain and spinal neurosurgery. My research has been focused on traumatic brain injury.

I have a passion for medical leadership and specifically growing Neurosurgical programs. As summarized above, I have had great success in developing major neurosurgical clinical and academic programs, often starting with modest beginnings
